Bukittinggi

Bukittinggi is one of the town in Sumatera Barat province and also belong to the country of Indonesia. Actually Indonesia has many islands inside, and Bukittinggi is located on the left side of Indonesia self. Maybe you can see also in world map or something to look at it. It maybe kinda difficult to find'em on globe. Cause, you know Indonesia is not a really big country such as U.S.A and China, needed a really sharp eyes to find it.

Bukittinggi (Indonesian for "high hill") is one of the larger cities in West Sumatra, Indonesia, with a population of over 91,000 people and an area of 25.24 km². It is situated in the Minangkabau highlands, 90 km by road from the West Sumatran capital city of Padang. It is located at 0°18′20″S 100°22′9″E, near the volcanoes Mount Singgalang (inactive) and Mount Marapi (still active). At 930 m above sea level, the city has a cool climate with temperatures between 16.1°-24.9°C.

Bukittinggi is a very beautiful town. It has a great scenery in every side you look at it. And so peaceful to comfort yourself. The great things belong first to the center of the Bukittinggi, that is 'Jam Gadang'.

Jam Gadang

 A big clock with white paint all over standing at the center of the town, that's what we call 'Jam Gadang' is. To be honest, here around the Jam Gadang is always crowd of people. No matter what time is it, what day is it or either it's hot or breezy the place is never empty of people. Maybe if you would come to Bukittinggi and come to Jam Gadang instead. You'll find people around taking a walk either it's a person or more, taking a picture, sell something out such a stuff you know sort of shirts, pants, and so many accessories and also souvenirs. And maybe you would say people at bukittinggi just spent their whole time hanging around Jam Gadang and for correction, that's not really true. Cause you know, even you see so many people hanging around, but not all of them you'll see the same. For make it simple, some people are going in and when it happens, some people also going out. So, people just hanging for hour or couple of them, and then come again another people to hang around. It happen not only at morning, noon or after, but also at evening. And the view is really amazing like this

The next great thing in Bukittinggi is 'Lubang Jepang'. It was a heritage of Japan. Actually Lubang Jepang is a cave and has a big tunnel inside which is made by Indonesian people below the command of Japanese people long time ago. It says a few years ago founded human bones spread along the tunnel. And that might proved that someone is in the cave but can't find the way out so that he can't survive anymore. And again, when you would come to Lubang Jepang, I suggest not to say any bad words or do something bad as long as you are in the cave, or else something bad might happen. But, at the whole thing, Lubang Jepang is not scary at all. Cause right now there's so many people are visited on. And also inside the cave has a light to bright on the dark. Once you're in Bukittinggi, don't forget to ride this one. It's a kind of traditional transportation that using a horse to move. Amazing isn't it? It doesn't like you're riding a real horse that you jump over it's back and control it by yourself. It's more like a horse that brings a box behind with wheels. Not an actual box with the close side all over. But, it's more like a box with only has up and down side. And even it's not really an actual box, I'm still prefer to call it box after all.

Like I've said before this transportation that we called Bendi is not being controlled by our self, so Bendi is being controlled by someone else that might we called a driver. Here's the picture of it

See the picture? The man with the red shirt is the driver. In the front is the horse. And the box I was talking about, right where the man was sit, just has up and down side. If you want do ride on this transportation, you'll sit on the place that the driver are sit on. And automatically the driver will go further to the front so that you as the customer have some space to sit on. Maybe the picture above shows that the box looks only have some small space, actually the box is a bit wider in the real life, about 4 people could ride on it, so just leave it alone.

By taking this transportation, sure is feel relaxing. Cause first, it moves slowly. Just like when we're walking, but a bit faster. You can even feel the wind is so breezy and blow away your face gently, along with the shaky moves of the box because of the wheels and the spiky road. Watching over the scene of the building, see so many people hanging around, so that makes you not realize you arrived already.
